Addi!!...AGAIN?

LOL, how Jamaican newspaper can do Addi ( Kartel ) so rasta?!
In case you've been under a rock, there's reports that Blak Ryno is no longer a part of Portmore Empire, and cartoonist Clovis wasted no time in putting his spin on it, as he did earlier with the Gaza Kim situation.

Also, earlier yesterday it was reported that Ryno's house was shot up but no one was hurt as Ryno nor his family was home at the time. Ms Raine, Kartel's publicist posted a statement from her client, in which he stated "anyone who does anything to Ryno has to answer to him" <--click the link to read.

Dame Dash, the modern day Christopher Columbus

So, Im scrolling thru the Observer's site, as I do on a regular and I see this headline [ Hip Hop's Damon Dash makes the Judgement Yard sojourn ] and I thought hmm..let me read this effery.

So basically Dame is visiting Jamaica for the first time. Hmm...didnt he sign ( or gave him a distribution deal) Sizzla a couple yrs ago? this is really his first time in J.A? wow! talk about being interested..

He went on to explain about his trip..
"The wind blew me here, I pride myself on being an innovator and I want to come here first... before everybody else catches on and realises that Jamaica is the place to be,"
Oh and he met Usain Bolt's father, and ate yam! oh em gee, yam, something that doesnt exist in the states *roll eyes*
"I visited Bolt's father and it was such a great experience. Actually, the deeper you go into Jamaica, the safer you feel and this is contrary to what you hear"
The Yam-
"I'm not sure if it was the first time I was eating yellow yam, but it was the first time that I was actually aware of what I was eating,"
LOL, folks crack me up, to read the full article click here
But before that, reminisce with me for a minute will ya? peep this vid..

Buju and SF gay rights activists try to meet on common ground

So...Yesterday in San Francisco, Buju Banton met with gay rights activists for 40 minutes to speak on their differences.
The meeting, organized by SF mayoral candidate and supervisor Bevan Dufty, also included, executive director of the SF gay community center Rebecca Rolfe, Equality California’s Andrea Shorter, SF Supervisor Eric Mar and activist Michael Petrelis
“The meeting was very civil and productive, even though at times I had to play the “bad cop” activist, especially when Buju was dominating the discussion, and we made several suggestions for him to consider, in order to start to undo some of the problems he has in the gay community because of his past anti-gay lyrics.”
- Said Petrelis

Petrelis also said the group proposed that Banton think about making statements in Jamaica calling for love toward gays, donating to the JFLAG group, hold a town hall meeting in Kingston about the need to respect gays, and sing about loving gay people.

Apparently Petrelis living in lala land or something cause all his suggestions were turned down by Buju and his camp DWL! like seriously dude what did u expect? dwl, still dont get why Buju even met with them tho...hmm...

Majority of Buju's shows were cancelled. Mind you, this is mainly over a song Buju did in 1992 titled 'Boom Bye Bye' where Buju is fire burning the gay community.
In '04 he (Buju) was tried and acquitted on charges that he participated in the beating of 6 gay guys, mind u, there were no witnesses! smh, and in '07 he signed the Reggae Compassionate Act, promising not to perform songs that advocate homophobia.
Now, I know these fags dont go to every Buju show so how would they know if he's still djing 'boom bye bye'? I've been to a few Buju shows and all I hear is great music, nothing fag related, music for your soul, so what is it that these ppl want? for him to join them?? I feel like they're forcing Buju into something they know damn well is not relevant.
I would love to hear what Buju has to say after this

For now I will pause on my fire burning, but it will continue after 5p.m est. haha!

here's a pic of Buju and dem over the weekend. Luuuist Petrelis is the one sitting infront with Buju (smh..not even a pic i woulda tek wid dem!). Still dont get the reason for the meeting since nothing came out of it...

here's another pic: Buju & Petrelis boom fist
